Massa doesn't like Pirelli's choices at Spa

The pilots Williams were in difficulty during the first day of testing for the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps. Valtteri Bottas only signed the 16th time, more than two seconds behind the reference time of Max Verstappen, while Felipe Massa followed him in 17th place.

The Brazilian blamed Pirelli for choosing too high tire pressures. “We struggled on the short and long runs with the tires. It's been a very difficult day and we're going to have a long evening trying to sort it out.", recognized Felipe Massa cited by ESPN.

“Tire pressure must be a cause of these concerns. I have never driven with tire pressures this high in my entire career. It’s a bit of a joke.”, added Felipe Massa who resonated with Carlos Sainz Jr.

Pirelli defended itself by emphasizing that the teams knew this data before the start of the season.

“It’s no surprise for these teams to have these types of pressures. We decided at the start of the year to provide information on tire pressures from February.”, explained Mario Isola, Pirelli's competition manager.
