Massa wins internal match at Williams

Third last year in Italy, the Brazilian Felipe Massa once again climbed onto the podium at Monza. The former Ferrari driver, also present on this same podium in 2010 during his time with the Team, however, had to resist the return of his teammate at the end of the event Valtteri Bottas.

Felipe Massa had opted for an early stop in front of his teammate, which almost did him a disservice at the end of the Grand Prix. “He stayed on track a few more laps which helped him with his tires for the end of the race. At the end I was starting to lose performance on the rear tires and he started to catch up. »

But the Finn will not be able to overtake his teammate, despite a faster pace. “In the last three laps it was quite difficult, admits Massa at a press conference. He was faster than me. The only problem was the traction: it was better on his side. I fought hard, and getting on that podium was tough, but I'm so happy with this result and for the team. »
