Massa worries about tire wear

Felipe Massa was not satisfied with his sixth position on the starting grid for the Singapore Grand Prix. The pilot of the Team will have a hard time gaining positions on the urban route, even if Lewis Hamilton (Mclaren) lost a set of super soft tires during his puncture in qualifying.

The Brazilian is worried about the performance of the Pirelli tires on the Singapore track. “Sixth place was clearly not my goal but I have to live with it”, comments Felipe Massa. “I now have to concentrate on the race which promises not to be easy. Tire degradation will be significant, whether with soft tires or super soft tires. We will have to adapt in the best way possible. »

The Ferrari driver is banking on an aggressive strategy to hope to take places during the race. “I think that strategy will be more than ever the predominant factor in having a good race”, adds the Brazilian. “It was not easy to set a perfect lap in qualifying. Even if the car was much improved since the last free practice session, I still had a lot of oversteer, particularly in the second and third sector where the rear tires were overheating. »
