Massa: An eventful but rewarded race in Brazil

The public at the Brazilian Grand Prix was delighted with the podium of Felipe Massa who was the fastest behind the Mercedes who remained untouchable. If Valtteri Bottas struggled to finish in the points, the Brazilian maintained a high pace despite a few mistakes that could have made him lose his third place to Jenson Button who lost out by just a handful of seconds.

Felipe Massa notably received a time penalty after being caught speeding in the pits during his first stop. “The race was incredible, everything happened to me today”, commented the pilot Williams at the end of the penultimate event of the season. “I'm really happy, but a little less so regarding the mistakes made. I had a limiter problem on my first stop and I thought I had lost the podium with the five second penalty. I was so disappointed that I pushed even harder, but we couldn't go too fast to preserve the tires. »

The Brazilian was going to make another mistake by returning to the pits, stopping at the garage McLaren. “They changed our location for this race and we are more towards the middle. McLaren had the same colors, they were next to us, and I thought it was our garage. I still lost a lot of time but I started to attack again, paying attention to the tires and getting back ahead of Jenson. »
