Maurizio Arrivabene responds to Luca Baldisserri

A few days ago, Luca Baldisserri, former head of the Ferrari Driver Academy, indicated in an interview with Corriere dello Sport that fear had invaded Scuderia Ferrari, thus blocking the desire for innovation and decision-making within the Italian structure.

Words which did not fail to be commented on at a press conference reserved for team managers last evening in Austin, Texas. When asked about the question, Maurizio Arrivabene, Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari wanted to bring its own truth.

“It’s an old story. Ferrari in Italy is like the Italian national football team, specifies the Transalpine. I think the pressure is normal. Having pressure is normal, being criticized is normal, so you have to live with that.

So sometimes it goes too far. Our job is to focus on what we are doing, follow our path and sometimes do these simple actions, and watch what we are doing. It's part of the job.

If you work in Maranello, if you work for a brand like Ferrari, you have to accept all of this, whether you like it or not. The atmosphere here is completely different from what people think, or what you sometimes read in the newspapers. »

Arrivabene is also at the center of certain rumors which would send Eric Boullier, current competition director of Mclaren racing, towards Maranello.
