Max Chilton confirmed at Marussia F1 Team

Marussia's announcement F1 Team does not really surprise following the publication of the list of F1 drivers entered for the 2014 season. Max Chilton retains his driving role with the Russian team to compete for a second season alongside Jules Bianchi. Caterham F1 Team thus becomes the only team not to have revealed its crew while the first winter tests in Jérez will begin on January 28.

“Continuity is important for a team but also for the driver”, recalled Max Chilton who achieved a great feat by finishing the 19 Grands Prix of his first season in F1. “You learn a lot when you're a rookie, but the second year allows you to pool all these new experiences and reveal your true potential. This has always been the case for me in other disciplines and I will look to do the same in F1. »

John Booth also seems happy to keep Max Chilton at a time when the regulations are changing, which requires the best possible stability within the squad. “Continuity is the key in view of the regulation changes and it is a real benefit for our technical team to keep the same crew,” underlines the Team Principal of the Russian team. “Max can be proud of his progress in 2013. We can now fully concentrate on the new season and our new car in order to raise Marussia F1 Team to a better level. After securing tenth place in the Manufacturers' Championship, we will aim for better objectives. »
