Max Mosley: “No guarantee the race will resume in July”

For Max Mosley, former FIA president, it's the entire World Championship season F1 2020 which remains placed under the seal of the conditional, while the idea of behind closed doors in Europe was brought forward for a resumption.

“Waiting risks making things worse without certainty of gain, believes Mosley, interviewed by the German agency DPA. There is no guarantee that racing can restart in July. This seems more and more unlikely. »

The cancellation of the season would even be a possibility for the Briton. “Teams and promoters would have the confidence to be able to plan and take action. Until we know what will happen globally with the pandemic, it is not possible to make rational plans for F1. »

If for the moment the French Grand Prix remains on hold for the resumption of F1 after the French government's announcements on the possible start of confinement, the discipline's return to the track still remains uncertain.

F1, for its part, hopes to contain costs as much as possible, with several voices being raised in particular to strengthen the budget ceiling. For Liberty Media, good decisions could also help discipline.
