Max Verstappen at Suzuka free practice?

Max Verstappen should discover the STR9 during the next Japanese Grand Prix held in two weeks at Suzuka. The future replacement for Jean-Éric Vergne, who has caused a lot of ink to flow due to his young age (16 years), has achieved his first test session last week at Adria International Raceway behind the wheel of the STR7 from the 2012 season.

The contender for the title F3 European Championship seems to have convinced Toro Rosso to put it into the deep end now by participating soon in the free trials of the F1. The Faenza team also has every interest in offering him maximum experience since the son of Jos Verstappen was still playing in karting last year ! “He completed 396km without any problem”, commented Franz Tost, Team Principal of Toro Rosso, in the paddock of the Singapore Grand Prix. “The team was very impressed with his performance and it is now up to the FIA to grant him its superlicence to take part in Friday's free practice at Suzuka. We will prepare him step by step and I am sure he is the driver we need for 2015.”
