Max Verstappen: “A lot of bad luck”

With five retirements in the last seven races contested, Max Verstappen does not have a start to the season in line with its expectations. The Dutch pilot of Red Bull Racing was eliminated from the very first moments of the event in Austria last weekend, after experiencing an initially disrupted start due to technical problems.

« We had a clutch problem, emphasizes Verstappen. I could sense on the formation lap that it wasn't great, then initially it didn't work, which triggered the anti-stall. I set off after losing a lot of places and tried to stay out of trouble at turn 1, but I was hit on the rear tire. »

Collateral victim of the clash between Daniil Kvyat and Fernando Alonso, Max Verstappen was unable to continue his Grand Prix, and was forced to retire for the third time in a row, having not crossed the finish line since Monaco and a fifth place.

“Everyone works very hard and there is no blame on anyone, continues the Red Bull Racing driver. We've had a lot of bad luck recently and I have to try to stay positive. It's really not good at the moment and I'm very disappointed, but it's also very important to keep pushing everyone because there are still a lot of races to go. »
