Max Verstappen: “Like at home”

The end of the summer break is a special moment for Max Verstappen since he considers the Belgian Grand Prix his home Grand Prix in the absence of an event in the Netherlands. The young pilot Red Bull was also born in Belgium and has dual nationality through his mother.

« I can't wait to come to Spa this year. I love this circuit and it's great to see so many orange fans in the stands, enthuses the Dutch pilot.

« I really feel at home for this Grand Prix because we are close to the border and there is no race in the Netherlands yet, so there are a lot of Dutch people coming. Already last year there were a lot of t-shirts and orange flags at the edge of the pitch, which is very pleasant to see and makes the event even more special. »

In addition to being a circuit that Verstappen enjoys, Spa is also one of the most memorable places in the Red Bull driver's career since he won all 3 races there over the weekend. F3 in 2014 and also scored his first qualifying row there last season.

« Spa is my favorite circuit of the year. You have to be 100% and when you do a good lap, it's very rewarding. There is a good rhythm with the fast turns and obviously the best moment at Eau Rouge when you arrive at the top even if it's easy to go hard with the F1 modern, it's really good when the bottom of the car touches the ground and becomes very light at the top of the climb. »
