Max Verstappen happy to start his program

For his first outing on the Jerez track at the wheel of the Toro Rosso STR10, The Dutch Max Verstappen completed 73 laps (for the 5th time more than 3″ of Sebastian Vettel's best performance) and also focused on his discovery of intermediate tires at the end of the session, following the onset of rain in Andalusia.

“In the morning, we had some difficulty warming up the brakes, but we corrected that very quickly, explains the 17-year-old pilot. After that we managed to do some long runs which helped me understand the new car. It's good to finally start working for the next season and I'm happy with my first day here in Jerez. »

Spanish Carlos Sainz Jr will find the seat of the STR10 powered by the V6 turbo / hybrid Renault tomorrow. Max Verstappen will be back on track for the final day on Wednesday. Photos from the Jerez tests can be viewed here.
