He is the strong man of the moment: Max Verstappen continues again in Austria for the Styrian Grand Prix. The championship leader, and last winner in France, ended the day on Friday at the top of the timesheet.

“Obviously it was a good day for us even if there are still a few details to sort out, which is normal for a Friday, admits Verstappen. I'm pretty happy with the car so far. »

Max Verstappen emphasizes that the best time of Lewis Hamilton was canceled for not respecting the track limits and that the Briton should have been classified better than fourth place.

“During FP2, Lewis saw his time canceled so this afternoon's ranking does not necessarily represent reality, tells us the championship leader. We think the two teams will be very close in terms of performance.”

On the Lewis Hamilton side, Red Bull would be ahead in pure performance even if the Briton is satisfied with his car for the moment.

“I think we are a little behind, especially on a fast lap, Hamilton explains. But, I'm pretty happy with the car so far. I noticed some weaknesses but we will work on them… it's only the start of the weekend. It will be tight with everyone. I think Red Bull are a little above us and it will be better seen when they put full power on the engine tomorrow.”

The rain could well change the cards tomorrow during FP3 at 12:00 p.m. and during qualifying at 15:00 p.m.
