Max Verstappen: “A demanding circuit”

Le Dutch Grand Prix will undoubtedly be one of the highlight moments of the 2020 season. On the one hand, the Zandvoort circuit, in a reworked configuration with the appearance of banking, will return for the first time in F1 since 1985, on the other hand, the orange army of fans of Max Verstappen promises to set the stands on fire.

The pilot Red Bull was also able to preview the revised Dutch track yesterday, at the wheel of a 8 Red Bull RB2012.

« It was a great opportunity to be the first person to drive an F1 car at the new Zandvoort circuit and the track is really cool, especially turn 3 where the banking is incredible, admits “Mad Max”.

I didn't expect the banking to be so big, but it's really cool to drive an F1 there. Same for the last turn: it's quite tough and with the new cars and the open DRS it will be a good challenge and it will offer a lot of fun.

The whole circuit is very demanding. There are a lot of fast turns and not so many asphalt pullouts. So it's quite difficult to reach the limit, but that's what we like.

Does this give me a head start coming here today? Maybe a little bit. It's always good to start on a track and see what it looks like, and what the feeling is. »

In addition to this run in RB8, the Dutchman was able to take his father Jos behind the wheel of a Aston Martin DBS Superleggera.
