McLaren once again sees its test day in Barcelona disrupted by mechanical problems. The team must change the Power Unit on the MCL32.

McLaren still needs to replace MCL32 engine

Stoffel Vandoorne was only able to complete 34 laps this morning on the Barcelona track (Spain) where the winter tests for the car are currently taking place. F1. The Belgian had to return to the pits after McLaren detected an electrical problem on the Honda Power Unit.

McLaren has announced that it is currently carrying out a complete change of the Power Unit on the MCL32 “in order to optimize time on track and assess the origin of the problem once the Power Unit has been dismantled”, according to the Woking team press release.

Last week, McLaren was unable to complete 208 laps on the Catalunya circuit at the end of four days of testing (101 for Fernando Alonso and 107 for Stoffel Vandoorne) while Mercedes completed 558 laps with the W08.
