McLaren has confirmed Fernando Alonso's presence at the Malaysian GP while revealing new information about his accident in Barcelona.

McLaren provides details of Alonso's accident

McLaren confirmed the presence of Fernando Alonso at the Malaysian GP which will take place this March 29 in Sepang, after the double world champion passed his first exams successfully.

“Since his accident in Barcelona (Spain), Fernando has undergone rigorous and specific training to ensure a safe return to competition... Fernando met with the engineers and worked on the simulator last week at McLaren Technology Center (Woking)… He was able to discuss the accident with them and review in depth the data shared with the FIA”, indicated the press release from the British team.

McLaren evokes a new fact based on the testimony of Fernando Alonso. “Even if nothing particular was noted in the data or the reconstructions, Fernando reported “heavy” steering before crash. Therefore, the team added a sensor to the car to collect more data. »
