McLaren: Hamilton confident

If Mercedes, McLaren's partner for fifteen years, bought 75% of the shares in Brawn GP in order to set up its own team, Lewis Hamilton is not worried about the future of the Woking team.

Lewis Hamilton, pilot who seems to be linked for life with McLaren, does not worry about the strategic choices of Mercedes. The German manufacturer, partner and owner of 40% of the shares of the Woking team, bought 75% of the shares of Brawn GP, in order to have its own team, Mercedes GP. This new order Formula 1 don?t worry the 2008 world champion.

« This does not concern us because we will keep the Mercedes engines until the end of 2015,” Hamilton told Bild. “ The relationship between McLaren and Mercedes remains very good, even if I would prefer that no one else benefited from it! It?s certainly the best in Formula 1. »

And if Mercedes now has its own team following the acquisition of Brawn GP, Lewis Hamilton does not hold grudges. “ My relationship with Mercedes has been closer over the years and I wish them the best. It?s great news for Formula 1 that they continue while other manufacturers have left. »
