McLaren “at a crossroads” with Honda

The Gilles Villeneuve circuit being known for being a motor circuit, McLaren impatiently awaited the developments promised by Honda for the Canadian weekend. But the Japanese engine manufacturer was unable to deliver the improvements on time.

« Honda works very hard, but they look a little lost, entrusts Zak Brown the executive director of McLaren to the Reuters agency.

« We were only warned very recently that we would not have the improvements for this weekend... and we do not have a precise timetable, which is worrying because we are suffering a lot but we do not can't wait to do nothing indefinitely. »

Zak Brown admits that McLaren is in a difficult position with its engine supplier as Honda prepares to supply a second team with engines, namely Sauber.

« We are now entering a period where we must ask ourselves which way to turn when we are at a crossroads.

“A year in Formula One is an eternity. Three years, a decade. And we can't continue like this. »

Despite his criticism, Brown claims that it is perfectly possible for a client team to be world champion, citing the cases of Red Bull and Brawn GP.
