McLaren returned full of determination after four weeks of vacation. In Zandvoort, the English team quickly revealed its cards and beneath them many new features were revealed.

Brake ducts, front and rear suspension, floor… The Oranges brought out the heavy artillery in terms of developments. So much so that this is the biggest package of new features since the Miami Grand Prix. At the time, this worked in their favor, Lando Norris winning for the first time in his career and above all signaling the end of the period of tranquility of Red Bull. More than three months later, will these innovations have the same impact on the MCL38 of English andOscar piastri ? Difficult to say at present, the main sessions of the Dutch Grand Prix have not yet been contested. But one thing is certain, McLaren has teeth.

Thus, it brought new brake ducts at the front, revised its flat bottom with smaller supports as well as the front suspension, while the rear was modified... All with the aim of improving flow air on the car.

« We have been able to produce a large amount of developments, the largest number since Miami, rejoices Andrea Stella, the main team of the Woking team. We hope that we will be able to notice an effective aerodynamic contribution to the car. After Miami, we decided to take time out of our development plan to determine the right time to really take action and launch the production of new pieces to be fully convinced. Not to mention that these days there are budget limits and you can't produce everything and test it on track. We must be diligent.

We can't wait to see how the car responds to these new features. There will be others in the next races. I hope this will help us improve the performance of the car overall and continue to fight for good results. » Qualifying this Saturday (15:00 p.m.) will undoubtedly provide a first element of response to McLaren who will be able to have an idea of the contribution, or not, of these developments before turning to the rest and welcoming news very quickly .
