The return of the Formula 1 on the Old Continent should rhyme with new parts on the cars for a large part of the teams. Ferrari for example ticked off the Spanish Grand Prix as the ideal meeting to introduce its first big developments on the F1-75s of Charles Leclerc et Carlos Sainz this season.

In Barcelona, the Scuderia will not be the only team to bring new elements to its car. In recent days, rumors in the corridor suggest an AMR22 ofAston Martin completely redesigned. For his part, McLaren also plans to offer Lando Norris et Daniel Ricciardo new parts for their MCL36.

« We will make some improvements to the car for this weekend, says Andreas Seidl, the main team of McLaren, without specifying which parts they are. I know it's been a very busy week for a lot of teams who made changes before Barcelona, so the fight for points will continue to be tight. We achieved good results on this circuit during pre-season testing (in February) and it will be interesting to see how our car performs with the improvements we have made since then. Hopefully we will have some good battles and both cars will be in the fight for points again »

With good momentum after a very complicated start to the season, McLaren was stopped in its tracks during the last Grand Prix in Miami. After average qualifying, the Woking team had a difficult race with a retirement for Lando Norris and a 13e place for Daniel Ricciardo. In the land of Don Quixote, the Oranges hope to get the machine back on track and move forward.

« Although the result of the race in Miami was not what we wanted, the team is fully focused on the weekend in Barcelona and the European double meeting that awaits us (F1 will continue with the Monaco Grand Prix the following week), continues Andreas Seidl. The Barcelona circuit is versatile, with a good mix of high and low speed corners, as well as more technically challenging areas. We have had solid results in recent years with some good points, we hope to extend the series this year."
