What does a collective title represent in an increasingly individualized society? What is the value of the non-personalized coronation of a group of 1 souls, compared to the coronation embodied by a single man? It is not always easy to judge the scope and prestige of a Constructors' World Champion title in Formula 1 when the Pilots ranking crystallizes debates and memories. Mercedes Hadn't she celebrated her Teams crown with tears of sadness in 2021, for having bitterly lost the war with Lewis Hamilton ? The ultra-domination of Max Verstappen in 2022 and 2023 had then eclipsed the nevertheless meritorious coronations of Red Bull. At least the title gleaned by McLaren at Yas Marina was appreciated and celebrated.

Given the team's ability to recover over the past few years, and the chassis development that it seems to master better than the others, already glimpsed in 2023, I was hoping that McLaren would join the fight for victory this year. It's done, with the team title at stake. Note that McLaren is a "customer" team! With these capabilities, and RBR clearly losing momentum since mid-season, we can reasonably think that McLaren will be able to play for both titles next year. Let's not forget that Verstappen won the title thanks to his start to the season, but by resetting the counters to zero in March, it will be much more difficult for him to aim for a 2th crown, and that Newey is no longer there. It is rather Ferrari that could be McLaren's main opponent.

With a 4-way match expected next year, will the Norris Piastri duo be as sensitive to the "papaya rules" while Piastri will certainly not be the water carrier for his POMs colleague?

Rewinding to 2015 or even 12 does not seem relevant to me (change of engine, regulations, etc.) the very good comparison is that they were last at the start of the first GP of 2023 and world champion at the end of 2024!! Has there ever been such a 'remontada' in the history of F1?!
