Melbourne: Lewis Hamilton summoned

Lewis Hamilton will have to answer for his actions before the Australian courts. The 2008 World Champion Formula 1 was summoned to appear in court following his dangerous driving in the streets of Melbourne on Friday March 26, on the sidelines of the Australian Grand Prix.

The pilot McLaren Mercedes was guilty of “dangerous driving” at the wheel of the Mercedes which had been entrusted to him (see video). Caught by the Police doing "burns" on Lakeside Drive, the 2008 World Champion had his car confiscated, which has since been sold at auction.

Lewis Hamilton quickly published a press release in which he announced that he regretted his behavior: “ Tonight I was driving exuberantly. I got arrested by the police. What I did was stupid and I want to apologize. »

Unfortunately for the Briton, these excuses did not prevent Australian justice from summoning him. He must now answer to a “ intentional loss of control » from his car. A hearing has been set for August 24 but, due to the proximity of the Belgian Grand Prix, it appears difficult for the Briton to travel to Australia on that date.

In Melbourne, the affair caused a stir during the Australian Grand Prix and now the authorities want the Briton to be tried like any offender. “ Lewis Hamilton reminds us that the laws apply to everyone, no matter the person, declared to the Sunday Herald Sun Tim Holding, minister in charge, in particular, of road safety. Also, I'm glad he admitted he was embarrassed. »

The car that Lewis Hamilton was driving in Australia at the time, an AMG C63 Mercedes, was sold last month at auction in Melbourne for 158 Australian dollars, or 000 euros.
