Mercedes AMG F1 suffers too much with its tires

Mercedes AMG F1 however, seems to benefit from great potential with the W03. Michael Schumacher had climbed into third position on the starting grid for the Malaysian Grand Prix, a first since the 2006 Japanese GP. If his collision with Romain Grosjean (Lotus) knocked him to the back of the grid, he is a little thin to alone explain the poor result of the star manufacturer who only took one point, Nico Rosberg finishing painfully in 13th place after having lost several positions at the end of the relay.

As in Australia, premature tire wear is once again being blamed, as confirmed by Ross Brawn. “This is a particularly disappointing result after a positive start to the weekend in Malaysia”, recognizes the director of Mercedes AMG F1. "There is clearly an enigma about this car that we need to resolve. After the encouraging qualifying the day before, we suffered again today from the resistance of the tires during the race. There were only small windows where the erasers seemed to work, but they would completely go away at other times. I don't think we are being too demanding with the tyres, we are not using them properly and that is a problem we need to resolve to improve the car. »
