Mercedes through pitfalls

Unable to hit the track before midday following the replacement of the V6 turbo / Germanic hybrid following a problem discovered at 4 a.m., Mercedes overcame this setback in a good way. Nico Rosberg signed the second performance of the day behind Felipe Massa. “The whole team did an incredible job and I am delighted with the work accomplished today.” explains the German. “It all started with a strange sound heard by the engineers last night. But despite the time lost to replace the engine we did almost 100 laps. The big problem was the wind and the sand which could make you lose your grip suddenly. We still have some small reliability issues to resolve before Australia, but overall our testing has been good. »

Lewis Hamilton will complete Mercedes testing this Sunday at the wheel of the W05.
