Mercedes in a better position than at Spa after the first day at Zandvoort
There is no doubt, Mercedes is doing better, or finds himself in a better performance window, on the side of the Dutch seaside resort. Despite the hopes placed in the W13 at Spa-Francorchamps last week, the weekend in the Ardennes went very badly for George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, far behind the leading group and in particular Red Bull even being more than a second behind in qualifying.
A week later, the sensations are very different on the Mercedes side. Faster, George Russell and Lewis Hamilton were able to move to the front during the first two practice sessions on Friday, the first city to even set the best time in EL1.

However, the Englishman notes that they are not the only ones to have progressed, or to have found rhythm, since Belgium.
