Mercedes “in better shape in Malaysia”

Australia did not have a very positive start to the season for Mercedes GP. The performances seen this winter placed the star firm among the favorites, but the results from Albert Park disappointed all hopes.

“We had a difficult weekend in the first race of the season, despite expectations following our testing program in Barcelona, notes Ross Brawn. We suffered a number of problems which did not result in an optimal car for qualifying and the race. We weren't very lucky with the double retirement of Michael and Nico. Our priority since our return to Melbourne has been to review everything in detail and react in order to get the full potential of the car at Sepang. »

Same story with the vice-president of Mercedes Motorsport. Norbert Haug is convinced that Melbourne was just a twist of fate. In any case, the team has worked hard to catch up. “Since the first race in Australia, we have worked hard at Brackley and Brixworth to resolve the reliability and performance issues that hampered our weekend. Our goal is to be in better shape in Malaysia. »
