New season, new equipment supplier. After many years of collaboration with Puma, Mercedes will begin a completely new one. This will link the German team to Adidas from 2025.
An unprecedented partnership since the three-stripe firm founded by Adolf Dasler, brother of Rudolf Dassler… founder of Puma, will be arriving in Formula 1 for the first time in its history. These "Official Team Partners" make me laugh. Tires or fuel, when there is competition between brands, bring technical gains to the teams, but how can we believe that 3 stripes, a Puma or a Virgule bring performance gains? Has it become rude to simply say "Sponsor"?

We wondered in the context of the family rivalry between the Dassler brothers why Adidas had not followed Puma into F1! So it's done even if Adidas probably doesn't need to develop its notoriety thanks to F1. For Mercedes, a drop in standing with partnerships with Hugo Boss and Tommy Hilfiger but rappers and other football fans of the brand with the 3 stripes will be delighted...
