Mercedes responds to conspiracy theorists

At the end of the first four Grands Prix of the season, the conclusion is clear. Nico Rosberg has won every race and is 43 points ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton who accumulates blunders.

The three-time world champion racked up mechanical problems, suffering ERS failures during qualifying for the Chinese and Russian GPs. The Briton still had hopes of scoring a third victory in Sochi, but a loss of hydraulic pressure forced him to slow down as he was closing in on the Championship leader.

“There are no A and B teams here. Every member of the stable was given the right to be counted among the elite in their fields and they sacrificed many things to achieve this.", assured the star team in a letter addressed to the public. “We thank those who support us. As for the others, the detractors, the defeatists, the conspirators... we will consider having won a good battle if we can convince even half of our objectives. »

Mercedes F1 supports his remarks by mentioning a mechanical problem which also occurred on Nico Rosberg's W07 Hybrid at the Russian Grand Prix.

“We had an alarm on the MGU-K (kinetic recovery) of Nico's car. We spent several laps reassuring him since he had a good lead over Lewis and could relax his effort before the FIA authorized us to tell him which setting could solve the problem (related to the restriction of radio conversations) », specified the German manufacturer.
