Mercedes lays its foundations. While the F1 aims to visit the Qiddiya circuit – currently under construction – in the coming years, the German manufacturer has anticipated the move and has already found common ground with Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC), the main developer of this mega-city, for the creation of an ultra-modern site.
Named Mercedes-AMG World of Performance, the center will offer an unrivaled selection of immersive, exhilarating and authentic experiences, and is expected to open before 2030. In the 9-story building, visitors will be able to “ immerse yourself like never before in the world of Mercedes-Benz, from its rich history of motorsport innovation to its remarkable and unrivalled successes on the racetrack over the last two decades – with several attractions entirely dedicated to our Formula 1 team »
In addition, they will be able to be fully immersed in the life of a driver, from the preparation behind the scenes in the paddock to feeling the G-forces behind the wheel of an F1 car.
The centre will feature more than 60 state-of-the-art simulators and a Motion 4D simulation theatre, while youngsters will be able to enjoy interactive learning experiences including designing their dream race car and practising teamwork in a garage.
According to initial information about the project, parts of the Qiddiya Speed Park circuit will pass under the Mercedes-AMG World of Performance. Indeed, the characteristics of this track are very special with 21 turns, including a first "signature" turn, nicknamed "The Blade", which will rise to a height of 70 meters, the equivalent of 20 floors. In total, the drivers will have to support nearly 108 meters of vertical drop per lap. This track will aim to combine the elements of permanent circuits and street circuits. This will allow fans " to get closer than ever to the world of Formula 1. »
