Mercedes uses its development tokens

While Ferrari had announced the use of three development tokens on its Power Unit for Monza, Mercedes confirmed that it had used its remaining seven units available.

The team Mercedes confirmed this Thursday that it had used the seven development tokens remaining at its disposal to evolve its V6 turbo/hybrid Power Unit. Consequently, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg will use their third engine of the season. The new features obviously only concern the power units mounted on the W06 Hybrids of the leading duo in the World Championship.

On its Twitter account, Mercedes specified that this use was part of new avenues for development for the 2016 season, in particular to learn more about the new specificities of Petronas products, Mercedes' partner.
