Michael confident for the future

Sam, are you satisfied with the performance of the FW31s in Istanbul?

Yes I am. The development of the FW31 is progressing and we are closing the gap with the leading teams. We must now continue our progress throughout the season.

Has the new front wing allowed you to reduce the gap on your closest rivals?

We started working on the set-up on the new front wing on Friday during free practice. It worked as expected. This will now be the basis on which we will rely for future developments.

What do you think of the performance of your drivers?

Nico [Rosberg]'s first lap was pretty impressive. Starting from ninth place and finishing the first lap in fifth position was beyond our expectations. He made some interesting overtakes on Alonso, Räikkönen and Massa. He had a solid first stint, just like the second one. It was just frustrating to lose a place during the last refueling stop to Jarno Trulli. Overall, Nico did a fantastic job.

Kazuki [Nakajima] also drove very well. He also had an interesting first lap but he had a different strategy from Nico. He attacked hard in the last stint and his pace was good. It?s just a shame that he couldn?t collect the points for seventh place due to a refueling stop problem.

The next Grand Prix will take place at Silverstone. What do you expect?

The FW31 performed well on tracks with fast turns. With the improvements we are going to make at Silverstone, I hope we will be able to fight for points again.
