The latest official news regarding Michael Schumacher confirmed last Thursday that the recovery phase had been started by the doctors. The latter plunged the German into an artificial coma in order to preserve his brain following his skiing accident in Méribel (Savoie) on December 29.

This is a first positive sign regarding the state of health of the seven-time world champion after no press release had been published since January 17. Sabine Kehm, the German's press secretary, nevertheless clarified that no further information would be revealed concerning the intermediate stages of his awakening. The latest press release also clarified that the recovery phase of the former world champion could take a long time.
