Michael Schumacher hospitalized for a week

It's already been a week since Michael Schumacher fights the greatest fight of his life. The state of health of the seven-time world champion is still worrying since his serious skiing accident where his head hit a rock. First evacuated to Moutiers hospital, the German was quickly transferred to Grenoble University Hospital for emergency surgery to remove an intracranial hematoma. If “slight improvements” were noted at the end of his second operation, his condition is still considered “critical but stable”. Press officer Sabine Kehm indicated thatno press conference was scheduled before Monday.

If Michael Schumacher is still in a coma, the investigation into the circumstances of the accident is progressing quickly. The Red Baron's family handed over to the authorities the camera which was attached to Michael Schumacher's helmet and which could have filmed the accident. This element could be decisive in assessing the responsibilities of each person. In addition, a witness came forward and provided a second video to Der Spiegel, a German general news weekly known for its seriousness. This witness would have confirmed the family's statements affirming that speed was not to blame in the accident, the former pilot of the Team Ferrari being around 20km/h.

The Albertville public prosecutor told AFP that the prosecution and investigators would hold a press conference in the middle of next week, with the precise date being communicated within 24 hours.
