Currently 5th in Formula 2, German Mick Schumacher made a good start to the season in the antechamber of the F1, within the Italian Prema team. Member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, Michael's son, is necessarily monitored very closely by the Prancing Horse brand, and therefore by Mattia Binotto, its head of sports management.
This Sunday, after the fourth podium won by Mick Schumacher this season, Binotto praised the work of the young German to the German newspaper Bild: “He is doing very well this season in Formula 2. The goal that was set for him was to improve and make progress and that is what he is doing. We will soon discuss what we are going to do with him next year”, assured Binotto.
Before continuing. “It is clear that F1 is the logical next step for him, in an F1 team smaller than ours, so that he can learn his skills and get used to this new environment.” We obviously think of Alfa Romeo Racing, whose links with Ferrari are prominent. Also note that two other members of the FDA are particularly shining in F2 this season, since Callum Ilott leads the championship ahead of Robert Shwartzman.
