Rumors are rife regarding Aston Martin since a few weeks. The British team, in great difficulty this year with a disappointing AMR-22, is the subject of some speculation on the future of its drivers. Notably Sebastian Vettel, often announced from the Formula 1. During an interview with German media RTL News, Mike Krack, team director, displays his optimism regarding the continuation of the adventure between Vettel and Aston Martin.

“I’m very, very confident. (…) When we see him getting involved in a debriefing or on the phone, we say to ourselves that this is not how we behave when we don’t want to drive. This is not the way to act if you don't want to drive for the team. »

Since the start of the season, rumors have claimed that Aston Martin is already preparing for the post-Vettel era. For his part, Mike Krack ensures that the four-time world champion is not under pressure to give an answer regarding his future. However, he insists on the importance of keeping the 34-year-old driver within the team. “When you have someone like Sebastian, you have to try to keep him. It’s a mix of excellent riding quality, experience and a very positive person who keeps us moving forward.” Aston Martin boss wants to continue creating conditions for Vettel “so that he can use his talent”.

The Schumacher rumor? “It is too early to talk about such subjects”

If Vettel's future is not yet clarified, it is another German who is popular in the latest rumors: Mick Schumacher. The pilot Haas is cited among the most likely replacements for his compatriot. But for Mike Krack, this is currently out of the question. “It is too early to talk about such matters, Krack points out. We clearly have our way of doing things, which is that we want to continue with Sebastian. We'll see everything else later. »

Schumacher, at the end of his contract with Haas this year, would not be guaranteed to keep the American seat, even if Ferrari maintains its support. At Aston Martin, all the drivers on the grid are being observed, but Mike Krack refutes any approach from the British team. Right now, the only man who has the key to the equation is Sebastian Vettel. So, will you leave, will you not leave? While waiting for the response, the future still remains unclear for the Greens.
