Monaco moved forward by one week

The proposal to change the date of the Monaco Grand Prix has been accepted by the FIA World Council. The Principality will therefore host the GP a week earlier: May 16, 2010. This then allows the teams to benefit from two weeks between the Monaco race and the Turkish Grand Prix which takes place on May 30. The teams had therefore requested a change of dates because it seemed difficult to carry the two races together.

The FIA has also approved the principle of reversing the Brazilian and Abu Dhabi GPs but is awaiting confirmation from the promoters. If an agreement is reached, the competitors will meet like this season in the United Arab Emirates for the epilogue of the season. Finally, the final timetable will be adopted in December.

The provisional 2010 calendar:

March 28: Australia
