Monza prepares for a Grand Prix behind closed doors

If no official calendar has yet been released for the resumption of the 2020 World Championship season F1, Austria should host the first round at the beginning of July, with a likely closed session as reported by Liberty Media.

In the heart of Lombardy, hard hit by the coronavirus pandemic, Monza is still preparing to host a round, the legendary Italian route initially being planned for its traditional date at the beginning of September.

But if there is to be an Italian Grand Prix, behind closed doors should be the norm. “We don’t have the crystal ball to know what will happen at the beginning of September, indicated Angelo Sticchi Damiani, president of the Automobile Club of Italy on Sky Sports 24.

We hope the emergency will be over, we hope for a miracle, but today we are preparing for a Grand Prix behind closed doors »

Liberty Media recently revealed its event organization plan, including the absence of motorhomes and drastic monitoring of people's state of health.
