Mosley wants French Grand Prix to return

Even on a rally, Formula 1 remains Max Mosley's favorite subject. In Portugal, the President of the FIA did not hesitate to show his desire to see France regain its Grand Prix as quickly as possible: “It is one of the six historic Grand Prix. I think these six races are part of tradition and should be protected. »

The Briton wants to talk about the Grands Prix of Belgium, France, Great Britain, Italy, Monaco, present in the first calendar established in 1950 (with the United States and Switzerland) to which he adds Germany.

“These Grands Prix are part of the heritage of motorsport, these countries are the cradle of our sport,” he said. “We cannot cancel one of these meetings without the agreement of the FIA. »

However, Mosley remains aware of his lack of power on the subject: “This is a French problem which must be resolved by French people. They have to present a project and find an agreement with Bernie Ecclestone but we are also there to help them reach a solution. »

As a reminder, there will be no French F1 Grand Prix in 2009.
