Nathanaël Berthon first recruit of the Caterham development program.

Following its takeover a few days ago by a group of investors advised by Colin Kolles, the Caterham team entered a new era. A renewal confirmed today, since the stable of F1 led by the Dutchman Christijan Albers announced the recruitment of the Frenchman Nathanaël Berthon for its new development program. The current resident of the GP2 Series within the Venezuela GP Lazarus team, who had competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Murphy Prototypes, will benefit from a program off and on the track in order to best prepare for a potential arrival in F1. The choice of Berthon delights the team boss.

“We are very pleased to welcome Nathanaël to our driver development program. He is a young talent with recognized experience in the F1 entry series and as he already has experience, he adapts very easily to our team. We will work closely with him to help him reach his full potential and we are all very excited to see him progress as a driver, in and out of the cockpit. » says Albers. The Frenchman has already driven in F1 in 2011, at the young driver tests in Abu Dhabi, on behalf of the HRT team, then managed by Colin Kolles.

The Caterham team lines up this season Kamui Kobayashi and Marcus Ericsson in the seat of the CT05 powered by the turbo/hybrid V6 Renault.
