Nicholas Latifi Renault test driver

Renault Sport F1 Team confirmed Nicholas latifi as a test driver for the 2016 season. The 20-year-old Canadian spent time in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series with Arden Motorsport before joining the GP2 Series grid this year where he will compete with the Dams team.

The Toronto native will benefit from a training program which will allow him to obtain his Super License to take part in at least one free practice session this year.

“Nicholas is a young talent who has quickly progressed in different championships during his short career. In a very dynamic phase for the team, we are delighted to welcome him to prepare him for F1”, commented Frédéric Vasseur, competition director of Renault Sport Racing.

“F1 is very different from other categories of motorsport. By being immersed in this environment, I will be like a sponge to acquire as much information as possible. I hope to be able to apply most of this experience during my GP2 season”, added the new recruit.
