Nico Hülkenberg compares Monaco to Singapore

Monaco, Singapore, and to a lesser extent Montreal, urban circuits are significantly less represented than before in F1, where the discipline also went to Detroit, Adelaide, or Phoenix. On these tracks, which are always complicated to tackle, the approach to the race differs with the famous barriers never far from the tires and bodywork of the single-seaters. Nico Hulkenberg also compares the two urban events of the year on certain aspects.

“In terms of driving precision, Monaco and Singapore are very close, as are the most complicated races. You have no moment of respite, you are in action all the time, because the turns follow one another. Even if the straights are short, we reach high speeds for such a narrow track. For my part, I love the passage of the Swimming Pool which is very quick. » Hülk admits.

The VJM07s remained on an average race in Catalonia, where Sergio Pérez had also complained about the lack of grip of his car. The arrival of the super-soft tire for the first time this season should delight the Mexican on a track which demands a lot from the driver. “But the hierarchy should not move too much with the same teams in front. I don't expect any surprises. » declares the former resident of McLaren. Pérez, like all the drivers, will begin free practice on Thursday morning.
