Unable to count on Sergio Pérez (positive for Covid-19) for the British Grand Prix last weekend, Racing Point called on Nico Hulkenberg to replace him. Unfortunately, he was unable to start due to a technical problem.
Despite everything, the former pilot Renault remained in the bubble F1 while waiting for the end of the quarantine and the screening of Sergio Pérez. A screening which turned out to be positive as confirmed by Racing Point this Friday. Unfit to compete in the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix, the Mexican is therefore forced to hand over his wheel to Nico Hülkenberg for the second weekend in a row. A boon for the Germanic.
« I am very happy to be with the team once again at Silverstone. Last week I ventured into the unknown after having been away from the team for many years but also because I had never driven this car. I learned a lot about the RP20 last weekend and am now ready to put my experience into practice ».
CONFIRMED: @HulkHulkenberg will drive for the team this weekend. Full story ⬇️https://t.co/QfYcjtCWlz#F1 #F170
