Nico Rosberg as obvious in Bahrain

Problem with the V6 turbo/hybrid block Renault, 16 laps completed, and a difficult day. Here is the summary of Lotus' Tuesday in Bahrain. The stable ofenstone is once again overwhelmed by technical problems and has just missed another chance to cover precious kilometers at the start of the season. Romain Grosjean must hope that car don't betray him tomorrow.

At Mercedes, no problem. 121 laps and the best time for Nico Rosberg in 1'35″697. Everything is going well for the W05, which once again saw a Force India in its mirrors throughout the day. Because the German's closest pursuer is none other than his compatriot Nico Hulkenberg. The latter finished in 1'36″064 with 69 laps completed. Same distance covered for the Ferrari de Fernando Alonso, 3rd on the timesheet this Tuesday and which caused one of the two red flags seen today in Sakhir, the other being to the credit of Max Chilton and his Mrussia MR03.

The other teams did not encounter any major problems, except Caterham, forced to end its day prematurely, following a hydraulic system leak on Robin Frijns' CT05. Tony Fernandes' team was riding for Pirelli and will be replaced in this role by Williams and Mercedes for tomorrow. We will also note the presence on the track of Sergey Sirotkin for Sauber and the absence of Stoffel Vandoorne, at the start announced in the MP4-29 of McLaren. But the Woking team preferred to line up Kevin Magnussen, who will also race tomorrow, Jenson Button having left his place to his young Danish teammate. Oliver Turvey, McLaren's other test driver, will not be there either.

At Williams, only 28 laps completed by Valtteri Bottas, but a program completed according to the words of the Grove team.
