Nico Rosberg on pole for the final in Abu Dhabi

Nico Rosberg scored his 11th pole of the season at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix by setting a time of 1'40"480 at Yas Marina, achieving an almost perfect result for Mercedes who won 18 of the 19 qualifications of the season! The German maintains his hopes of winning the title against Lewis Hamilton who lost by four tenths, even if the 2nd place occupied by the Briton would be enough to assure him of the coronation. THE Williams are still the closest with Valtteri Bottas 3rd ahead of Felipe Massa for a few tenths behind the Silver Arrows.

The Red Bull took the 3rd line with Daniel Ricciardo who is 7 tenths from pole, the gap between his teammate Sebastian Vettel on the first RB10 for his last Grand Prix with the Red Bull. But the Milton Keynes drivers have since been disqualified, which allows Daniil Kvyat and Jenson Button to move to the 3rd row ahead of the Ferraris of Kimi Räikkönen and Fernando Alonso. The Asturian was certainly hoping for a better position on the grid for his final qualifications with the Team, but its mechanical problems severely limited its testing.

Kevin Magnussen failed at the gates of Q2 in front of Jean-Éric Vergne. The Frenchman is ahead of the Force India of Sergio Pérez and Nico Hulkenberg, while Adrian Sutil is in 13th position. Romain Grosjean took 16th place but the Lotus driver will start from the back of the grid following his penalty and is also expected to observe a drive-through or receive a time penalty. Esteban Gutiérrez will be the first to benefit by starting in front of Pastor Maldonado. Caterham complete the list with Will Stevens back to within half a second of Kamui Kobayashi.

The start of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will be at 14 p.m. French time.
