Nico Rosberg makes Mercedes GP shine

Even if it is difficult to draw any lessons from these winter tests regarding performance, the fact remains that this is the second time that the new Silver Arrow has finished a day at the top of the timesheet.

Discreet for most of the day, Nico Rosberg set a 1:23:168 shortly before the end of the session, the best time of the day, and even of the week.

“It was interesting to ride this morning with the intermediate compounds, it allowed us to better understand the tires, explains Nico Rosberg. During our long runs this afternoon, we first worked on aerodynamics in anticipation of the next evolution, before running on low fuel and new tires at the end of the day. We have made progress in terms of understanding the car and the tires. Once again, we experienced no reliability issues. Overall, I really enjoyed these two positive and productive days in Barcelona. »

After a morning spent riding on a wet track, Nico Rosberg's program this afternoon was very complete. The young German continued to familiarize himself with the operation of the SREC, worked on various settings of his W02, and ended the day with qualifying simulations.

In all, the former resident of the stable Williams will have completed 92 laps of the Catalunya circuit today, bringing his total this week to 223, which equates to more than 1030 km covered.

Tomorrow, it’s up to his compatriot Michael Schumacher that the task of concluding the tests of Mercedes GP in Barcelona.
