Nico Rosberg equal to Sebastian Vettel?

La F1 currently has four very talented young Germans in its ranks. If among them, Sebastian Vettel is the most popular, it is perhaps because it has the best car of the board. Never a winner but always placed, Nico Rosberg manages to get noticed despite the poor performances of his Mercedes W01. In the columns of Auto Motor und Sport, Gerhard Berger reveals that for him, Rosberg is as talented as his compatriot from Red Bull.

“For me, Nico (Rosberg, editor’s note) is Vettel’s equal, affirms the Austrian. He just needs the right car to start winning. He is showing this year that he makes very few mistakes, and he is ahead Michael Schumacher most of the time. If Rosberg and Vettel had an identical car, I really wouldn't know who to bet on. »

Adrian Sutil, for his part, at the wheel of his modest Force India, occupies a convincing 10th place in the championship. After 12 GPs contested, he is only three points behind Michael Schumacher.

“Last year, I made fun of him, continues Berger. I never thought he had such potential. It is very fast and has significantly reduced its number of errors. For me, with Rosberg, he is the surprise of the season. »

Finally, last to arrive but certainly not the least talented, the 2 GP2009 champion Nico Hulkenberg made his mark in the queen discipline. After a discreet start to the season, he managed to finish 6th in the Hungarian Grand Prix, and performed as well as his teammate Rubens Barrichello in qualifying.

“He is in a learning phase, Berger explains. He makes more mistakes than Vettel and Rosberg in their debut, but Sutil was the same. I think Hülkenberg's mistakes are normal for a first season. When everything goes well, he almost manages to rise to Barrichello's level, and that's a compliment. Barrichello is certainly the best driver in the second part of the grid, and with his enormous experience, he never makes mistakes. »

At a time when France has no representatives in Formula 1, Germany has four talents whose careers are only in their infancy.
