Nico Rosberg has nothing to lose

The Italian Grand Prix allowed Lewis Hamilton to make the break on your teammate Nico Rosberg in the internal struggle Mercedes for the 2015 world crown. After a weekend already made difficult following a problem with the new Power Unit equipped with the latest updates from Mercedes on Saturday morning, Rosberg was forced to compete in the Sunday race with a block that had already covered many kilometers during the season.

An element which would take on its full importance when in the final moments of the event on the Monza track, the German, fighting with Hag for second place, saw his engine go up in smoke. Trailing Hamilton by 53 points in the championship, Rosberg admits that his tactics are now simple.

“Obviously Monza didn’t go as planned. It's a shame to miss a good result so close to the end, but now I approach the last seven races thinking that there is nothing to lose. It will be maximum attack and I will not give up the fight. Singapore is one of my favorite races, so it's a good place to start this. It's very difficult for everyone – physically and mentally – and I love the challenge. »

Beaten last year on this track by his British teammate, Rosberg will also want to turn the page on his retirement from the Marina Bay Street Circuit in 2014. “I was only a few thousandths away from pole last year and I was feeling good in the race until a problem with the steering wheel ended my weekend. I know I have the pace to win there, so I'm hoping for a flawless weekend. »
