Nico Rosberg lost big at the start

Si Nico Rosberg had started his Belgian weekend in the best possible way, despite a mechanical alert and an exploded tire in free practice, the German driver was however unable to do anything in the race.

The fault lies in a failed activation when the lights went out this Sunday in Belgium. « The departure went really badly, which was really annoying, admitted Rosberg after the finish. I didn't do a good job. I have to train again I think. »

Down for a time to fifth position notably behind the Force India of Sergio Pérez and the Red Bull de Daniel Ricciardo, the vice-world champion however erased part of his handicap, even coming back to within three seconds of the leader for a time Hamilton at the time of the virtual safety car.

“I tried to close the gap on Lewis but it wasn’t enough. »
concluded Rosberg. A gap which, however, has increased in the World Championship rankings since Rosberg is now at 28 points of his teammate Hamilton after this Belgian Grand Prix.
