Nico Rosberg can change status

Si Michael Schumacher did not hesitate to say on several occasions that his car did not suit him, this is not the case for Nico Rosberg. Certainly, the MPG W01 is not the best car on the current field. At least, it wasn't during the first four races of the season. Despite this, Nico Rosberg, very consistent, scored fifty points which propelled him to second place in the World Championship. And the young German knows that he can count on the work of Mercedes, which should allow the MGP W01 to improve significantly from Barcelona. These two criteria make the former pilot Williams very optimistic.

« It's really nice to start the European season with a second place in the drivers' championship and to be able to count on a major evolution of our car in Barcelona next weekend. », explains Nico Rosberg. If the Mercedes really improves, the young German could then become a candidate for victory, after having reached the podium twice when his illustrious teammate did not do better than a sixth place (Bahrain). This could be a first for the young German, who has started 74 Grands Prix in F1, without having been able to win. To achieve this goal at Williams, Rosberg asked for a car capable of winning. He knows Mercedes can bring him this car this season.

« After talking to the factory staff, I know they worked very hard to get everything ready on time, says Rosberg. It will be interesting to see what effects the new developments will have on the car. Barcelona is a circuit that is familiar as we have done so many test sessions on this circuit over the years. We will therefore be able to spend the free trials focusing on getting the most out of our developments. I can not wait to be there. »
