Nico Rosberg regrets his departure

Nico Rosberg lost the championship lead for the first time this season after the Hungarian Grand Prix where Lewis Hamilton won his fifth victory of the year. The German, who started from pole, gave way to his teammate at the first corner and was never able to attempt an attack on the race leader.

“The race was decided at that moment, admits Nico Rosberg. My start was good but a little worse than Lewis and Daniel (Ricciardo). Daniel got ahead of me, Lewis was on the inside and I lost my position in the first corner. I'm happy that I was able to take second place from Daniel at turn 2, but I lost the victory. »

Nico Rosberg is now six points behind Lewis Hamilton as his national Grand Prix will be contested in a week at Hockenheim before the summer break.

“It’s very close, the season has been good so far, adds the pilot Mercedes. As I always said, I don't keep score. I'm focused on winning and that's what I aimed to do today. I now hope to win at Hockenheim. »
