Nico Rosberg relieves Mercedes at Jerez

Nico Rosberg was the hardest on track today at Jerez, completing 148 laps, a total of 655km, which represents the distance of more than two Grands Prix. After two catastrophic days where the stable Brackley encountered electrical problems (with Nico Rosberg) and braking problems (with Lewis Hamilton, who lost the rear brakes before leaving the track), the German had a worry-free day at the wheel of the new Flèche d'Argent with which he set a time of 1'18"766, eight tenths behind the reference time by Felipe Massa.

After a disappointing start to the week, Nico Rosberg is satisfied to have been able to spend so much time on track to make up for the delay he had previously made. “I am very satisfied with this day and I think that having covered almost 150 laps of the track is a record for me”, comments the German who will hand over the wheel of the W04 to his teammate Lewis Hamilton for the final day. “I have never been so well prepared physically, I feel in great shape and I have no problem completing my program. To complete the distance from Silverstone to Spa in a single day without any problems is a fantastic result for the team. Everyone was smiling again. I had good feelings behind the wheel, I was able to attack feeling comfortable, but we still have a lot of work to do to continue to progress. »
